The House of Subadar

An epic journey through the states and villages of India, offering beautiful, panoramic views of Punjab, Gujarat and Rajasthan. The Subadars are a farming family who have lost their farm in the Punjab to the bank and who subsequently embark on the 1,000 mile epic journey to Bombay.

Rumours are that the streets are paved with gold but the reality is harshly different. We follow the family as they make the 12-day journey in a second-hand truck, enduring much hardship along the way. Caught up in the tragedies of this family, the reader cannot fail to be moved.
